We all want quick results with as little work as possible....true?

Well, has the answer finally arrived?

Introducing the Power Plate. This piece of equipment is causing quite a stir within the health and fitness industry due to its fast results and ease of use. It is a vibration device that can be used to work pretty much every muscle throughout your body to increase strength gains, improve shape and tone and to lose weight FAST!

It uses the principles of Acceleration Training to stimulate the body’s natural response to vibration. These vibrations transmit waves of energy throughout the body, activating muscle contractions multiple times per second, so fast we could never achieve this alone. You can have all these gains in sessions as short as 15 minutes a day, 3 times a week.

The Pro’s and Con’s

Let’s start with the Pro’s:

Any form of exercise can change your body but it’s the speed of this change that separates Power Plate apart from its contemporaries.

1. By using the Power Plate you can look forward to the following fitness gains: Improved shape and tone, better core conditioning, increased flexibility, and weight loss
2. It’s quick and easy to use, once its been set up all you do is jump on, do your exercises and 15 minutes later you’re done - Simple as that!
3. If you are training for specific sport you can increase your gains fast. For example, skiing, by doing squats on the Power Plate you can achieve more than by spending the same amount of time on the floor doing regular squats.
4. Anyone can do it from my Granny to an elite athlete. There are of course health implications to consider but generally speaking you can alter the level to cater for all abilities.
5. There are plenty of progressions. Once you’ve done all the basic levels you can add a weight vest and advance the exercises to keep achieving your goals.

So far, so good but sadly, with any product there are con’s

1. Fast results don’t come cheap. The Power Plate products range from £995-£8195. However, once you have purchased your Power Plate there is no additional expense and it will last you a long, long time
2. It’s not portable. Unlike exercise tubes, medicine balls and other fitness equipment , once it’s in its place - it stays there! It doesn’t take up much room but is heavy so you won’t want to be moving it around much!
3. With the Power Plate you will get a great body and beautifully sculpted muscles but sadly it doesn’t really work the heart and lungs too much. So I’m afraid you may still have to hit the treadmill every once in a while!

Having weighed up the Pro’ and Con’s I still love it! I was very sceptical the first time I used it as I’ve always been used to pounding on the treadmill and lifting weights around the gym to get my results. I ached after my first session which surprised me so I went back for more and now am a fully qualified fan!!
